Brocchinioideae Givnish in Aliso 23: 15. (2007)
Note: Givnish et al., (2007) subsumed Ayensua into Brocchinia as Brocchinia uaipanensis, but this is not accepted by Govaerts et al. (2015). This would render this sub-family monotypic.
