Badis britzi Dahanukar et al., 2015
Type locality: India: Karnataka: Nagodi tributary of the west-flowing Sharavati River, near the town of Nittur (13º54’58” N, 74º53’21”E, 594 m a.s.l.).
Etymology: The species name honours Ralf Britz, Natural History Museum, London, for his contributions to the understanding of the systematics and evolution of badid fishes.
