Typus: Mexico. Michoacan: Sierra de Zinapécuaro, 16 km NE of Queréndaro, "bosque de Pinus y Quercus; arbol de approx. 5 m de altura, flores de color blanco amarillento, abundante," 1900 m, 2 Feb 1969 (fl), C. Jiménez R. 259 (Holotypus: ENCB ; isotypi: ARIZ , DEK --photo, DS , MICH , RSA , WIS ).
