Aphelodoris affinis Eliot, 1907

  • Authority for current placement: Wilson 2003. 12 ('O’Donoghue (1924) recorded Aphelodoris affinis Eliot, 1907 from the Houtman Abrolhos Islands in Western Australia. This identification is unlikely to be correct, as Eliot’s species is a synonym of the New Zealand endemic, A. luctuosa Cheeseman (Burn, pers. comm.)'); also Enderby & Enderby, 2005: 9 ('... A. affinis Eliot and A. purpurea Bergh, both of which are now synonymised under A. luctuosa')
  • Current status: invalid subjective synonym of Doris luctuosa Cheeseman, 1882
  • Primary type: holotype
