| Classification System: APG IV

Acanthodium Delile, 1812
This combination is now recognised as a sub-genus of Blepharis by many authorities (Vollesen, 2000) and does not appear on the main Acanthaceae page.
In addition, Acanthodium lancifolium, A. papillatum, A. rigidum and A. trismegistum are to be found in Acanthodium Mitt. (Sematophyllaceae Broth.) which itself is a synonym of Trismegistia (Müll. Hal.) Müll. Hal. (1908). A. glabrum needs checking. See Tropicos.
