- (sciences) A coefficient which relates the change of the magnitude of a physical property to a unit change in temperature.
Usage notes
Thermal coefficients have been defined for many physical properties such as electrical resistance and thermal expansion. Typically a coefficient can be regarded as constant only over a certain temperature range.
