  1. (obsolete) A command to a horse, probably meaning "stand still".
    • 1387, Chaucer, “v. 4101”, in The Reeve's Tale‎:
      With "Keep! Keep! Stand! Stand! Jossa, warderere, Ga whistle thou, and I shal kepe hym heere!"
