Singulare tantum; originally a Gheg form, from Proto-Albanian *jausna, from Proto-Indo-European *iouHs ‘broth’ (compare Serbo-Croatian juha, Lithuanian jū́šė ‘fish soup’, Latin iūs). Doublet of gjër.
