Probably from diz- + nvets, or alternatively from a Vulgar Latin *disvitiō, from *vitiō (in the sense of "accustom, habituate, familiarize"), from Latin vitium (“vice”). Compare Romanian dezvăța, dezvăț, cf. also Italian divezzare, svezzare.
