French
Etymology
Obscure. For semantic reasons, it is unlikely to be a deverbal of bredouiller. The adjective derives from the noun and is linked by some etymologists to Germanic roots: it could be, like brelan, linked to German Brett. Historically, bredouille was also called toutes-tables.
