- (sports, billiards, snooker) A heavy felt-covered table fitted with six pockets along the perimeter used in the games of pool, billiards or snooker.
Usage notes
- In a pool table the potted balls are either retained or returned to one end. In the table used for snooker or billiards the potted balls remain in a net attached to each pocket.
