Etymology
Old Basque name, first recorded in 1062, and probably composed of the word ene (“mine, my”) and the diminutive suffix -ko, hence "my little one." The first Basque king of Pamplona was Eneko Aritza (compare haritz (“oak”)), also known as Eneko the Oak.
