  1. Used to form the feminine form of masculine nouns:
    λύκος (lýkos, “wolf”) + ‎-αινα (-aina) → ‎λύκαινα (lýkaina, “she-wolf”)

    Γεώργιος (Geórgios, “George”) + ‎-αινα (-aina) → ‎Γιώργαινα (Giórgaina, “Georgiana”)
