Etymology
First attested at least in XV century.
From სრა-სახლი (sra-saxli), a compound of სრა (sra) and სახლი (saxli). The letter რ (r) has been dropped and initial სა (sa) was thought to be the first part of the Georgian circumfix სა- -ე (sa- -e), whence the final -ე (-e).
