Klimov / Xalilov derive from Ancient Greek, without specifying the Greek word. Perhaps μαγίς (magís), genitive μαγίδος (magídos, small table) is meant. But compare Arabic مَائِدَة (māʾida), Ottoman Turkish مائدة (maʾide, table).
