Shortened from กุหลาบ (gù-làap, literally “rose”), the first name of Gù-làap Dtrìt-sà-nǎa-non (กุหลาบ ตฤษณานนท์; 2377 BE [1834/35 CE] — 2464 BE [1921/22 CE]), a man notorious for seeking benefits by stealing manuscripts from royal libraries and publishing distorted versions of them to avoid being caught.
