Related to Tamil அகத்தான் (akattāṉ, “one who is in, householder”), Tamil ஓர்-அகத்தி, ஓர்-அகத்தாள் (ōr-akatti, ōr-akattāḷ, “husband's brother's wife (i.e. she who is in one and the same house with oneself)”). Cognate with Malayalam ഇല് (ilŭ, “house, place.”)
