Related to Tamil அகத்தான் (akattāṉ, one who is in, householder), Tamil ஓர்-அகத்தி, ஓர்-அகத்தாள் (ōr-akatti, ōr-akattāḷ, husband's brother's wife (i.e. she who is in one and the same house with oneself)). Cognate with Malayalam ഇല് (ilŭ, house, place.)
