Usage note

Like other Assamese kinship nouns, মা (ma) uses the -এক (-ek) suffix for 3rd person. 2nd person can use the -এৰে (-ere) suffix for contemptuous manner. For example,

  • আপোনাৰ মা ― apünar ma ― Your mother
  • তোৰ মায়েৰে ― tür mayere ― Your mother
