Etymology
From Proto-Indo-Iranian *maĉšúš, from Proto-Indo-European *moḱs (“quickly, early”). Cognate with Latin mox (“soon”), Irish moch (“early”) and Avestan 𐬨𐬊𐬱𐬎 (mošu).
