From Old Turkic اجنج (üçünç). Cognates include Turkish üçüncü, Tatar өченче (öçençe), Kazakh үшінші (üşinşi), Kyrgyz үчүнчү (üçünçü), Turkmen üçünji and Azerbaijani üçüncü.
