бөйөк
Bashkir
Etymology
From Ottoman Turkish büyük (“large”), from Old Turkic bedük "big, large", from Old Turkic verbal stem bedü- "to grow large", from Proto-Turkic *bEdü- (“to grow large”).
The Native Kypchak development from that Old Turkic root is biyik (see Bashkir бейек (beyek, “tall, high”)).
