Split-Dalmatia
Split-Dalmatia is the county of central Dalmatia in Croatia. It consists of a narrow strip along the coast of the Adriatic Sea, an elevated hinterland, and islands. There are several rivieras along the coast.
The Makarska Riviera, with a sunny climate and some sandy beaches, in addition to the pebble beaches that are usual in Croatia, is a popular destination. It is 60 km long, stretching from Brela in the north-west to Gradac in the south-east. The Biokovo mountain range towers above the coast.
