South Bend is on the Pacific Coast of Southwest Washington.

South Bend was officially incorporated on September 27, 1890. The name of the city comes from its location on the Willapa River. The county seat was relocated from Oysterville to South Bend in 1893. The population was 1,637 as of the 2010 census.
