Shahdol

Shahdol is a small town located in Eastern Madhya Pradesh, India.

Officially its a Division and various districts such as Burhar, Umaria, Birsinghpur,Amlai, Dindori fall under its constituency. It's also known as Virat Nagar mainly due to presence of a historic temple Virat Mandir built by pandavas . It has presence of a lot of small hills and forests spread in large area. Shahdol is also rich with coal fields amounting to production of a large quantity of coal mined in India . The famous Bandhavgarh National Tiger Reserve is also located in the Umaria district of Shahdol and has a large population of tigers inhabited in wild. It has a lot of destinations to visit very popular among the locals such as Cheer Sagar, Johilla Falls, Tumbi, etc to name a few. These serve as a very famous picnic spots and a lot of rush can be seen in these places on national holidays and festivals.
