Rojava is a semi-autonomous region of Syria, inhabited mostly by Kurds, and also known as Syrian Kurdistan.

The Turkish border is closed. Al-Qamishli has an airport (at least in theory).
Stay safe
Al-Qamishli may be much safer than other parts of war-torn Syria, but travel there (and the rest of Rojava) is still highly inadvisable.
