From/to Dublin, Bus Eireann route 126 runs at least hourly and takes about 1.5 h from Dublin Connolly LUAS station to downtown Kildare. €16/adult €12/student (return). Dublin Coach (Green Bus) runs hourly (on the hour from the Market square to Red Cow; change for Dublin City Center or remain on the bus for Dublin Airport) or 5 past the hour and 35 past the hour stop outside Kildare Village Outlet. €5 one way (online fare) or €7 (cash)

From Dublin, go along the M7/N7 to Kildare.

  • 🌍 Grey Abbey (South-west of the town centre). daytime. Free.
  • White Abbey (White Carmelite Church) (NW of the town centre). daytime. Free.
  • Curragh Plains. 24hrs. The largest semi-natural expanse of green land in Europe. You'll pass it while driving into the town from Dublin. Contains a military training camp and a military museum. Free.

  • Climb the Round Tower, St. Brigid's Cathedral. morning-13:00, 14:00-17:00. Climbing to the top will be rewarded with the highest vantage point in Kildare €4/adult €2/child.
