H.D.Kote

H.D.Kote or Heggadadevana kote is a hilly town in Chamarajanagar district of Karnataka province in India.

Understand

H.D.Kote is full of little hills and lakes and the population is very limited. There are four reservoirs.

Get in

H.D.Kote is only 50 km from Mysore. There is no railway station.

Get around

Autorikshaws are the best mode of local transportation as taxis cannot be easily spotted.

See

  • Tribal villages. Tribal villages like Saragur are very scenic. A lot of water bodies like rivers and canals in this area.
  • Gaddige Kenddganeshwara Temple, Bhogadi Road (20 km). Riverside temple with cool and spacious courtyard to relax. Free lunch with sweets is served from 11:00 am.

  • Trekking Tracks. There are plenty of opportunities for peaceful trekking as the small streets are empty and villages very pretty.

There are many vegetarian restaurants offering not-very-clean vegetarian food.

  • Tasty Restaurant, Anthare Santhe. This is a kind of travellers' inn where Kerala style breakfast and lunch is available. Meat and fish are their staple content.
