Xylognathus macrustenus Smithson et al., 2015

  • Holotype: UMZC 2014.1.4a, b. Three partial skeletons in part and counterpart.

Type locality and horizon: Grey mudstone lens immediately above sandstone 6, Burnmouth, Scottish Borders, Scotland.

Etymology: From the Greek macrus (= long), and stenos (= narrow); referring to the long and narrow tooth plates.
