  - Type locality: Nelson's Lagoon (36°41'S, 149°59'E), Mimosa Rock National Park, New South Wales, Australia. Holotype: 16 xii 1998; on pneumatophores of the mangrove Avicennia marina. NSW 722255 (blades); conchocelis (722445). Holotype culture: CCAP 1379/3. Culture Collection of Algae and Protozoa, SAMS Research Services Ltd., Dunstaffnage Marine Laboratory, Dunbeg, Argyll, PA37 1QA, UK. Blade and conchocelis phases of isolate 3923 are included. Paratype: NSW 722446, Royal Botanic Gardens, Mrs. Macquaries Road, Sydney, NSW 2000, Australia. Collection data: 6 iv 2004, in a band of Caloglossa vieillardii (Kützing) Setchell on wood pilings at Westgate Bridge, Port Phillip Bay, Victoria (37°49'S, 144°53'E). Collected by J.A.West.
