​Suresh Chendra Singh, M.A., Rai Bahadur, Deputy Collector and Magistrate, Dacca; b. 1867; educ: Presidency College, Calcutta; entered service as Professor of Science in the General Assembly’s College, Calcutta, 1887: entered Government service and became Deputy Collector, 1910; has been closely connected with the work of the Eastern Bengal Saraswat Samaj which has confirmed on him the title of ‘Vidyarnad’; has also been connected with his cousin Rai Kailash Chendra Singh in his research work.
