JOHN ELLIS, Esq.
[Post-Captain of 1814.]

Was made commander Jan. 22, 1806, and appointed to the Spitfire sloop, Feb. 18, 1807, from which period he appears to have been actively employed in that vessel until his promotion to post rank, June 7, 1814[1].
