In the same year, 1590, a very gallant action was fought near Gibraltar between en English merchmtmen, homewrd bound from the Levant, and twelve Spanish galleys. It occurred on April 24th. In the course of it, two Flareand vessels joined the English; but, seeing the -ea odds agains them, one of them presently struck. For six hours the figh continued, md then the galleys, much disabled, withdrew, the English having los neither ship nor mam a Cumbefimd fitte ou a fourth expedition in 1591, consisting of H.M.S.
