Where as of a long tyme there hathe no vifitacion or furveye ben made by anye Heralde or officer of armes within our domynyon of Wales and Marches of the fame, whcrof hathe ryfen no lefle error in the ufyng, bearyng, and takyng of armes, creftes, and tokens of nobilitie, then debate and controvly aboute titles of inheritaunce, lyke to folowe to the greate trobleand dyfquiet of our loving fubje&es, namelie, of gentlemen in the par- ties aforefaid, if reformacion be nott hadd.
