BOLTON, Sir GEORGE (d. 1807?), writer on firearms, was preceptor to the royal princesses in writing, geography, &c. He was knighted on 3 April 1799, and died about 1807. He published ‘Remarks on the present defective state of Firearms with an explanation of a newly invented patent Gunlock,’ London, 1795, 8vo.
