BELSON, JOHN (fl. (1688), was a catholic gentleman, much esteemed on account of his knowledge of history and controversial matters. He rendered great assistance to White, Austin, Thomas Blount, John Sergeant, and several other learned writers of his time. He was living in 1688. Among other works he left a controversial treatise concerning tradition, entitled 'Tradidi vobis.'
