LOWELL, Percival, b. in Boston, 13 March, 1855. He was educated at the Latin school, Boston, and Harvard university, and is known as a writer, traveller, and astronomical investigator. The following is a list of his works: Chosön: The Land of the Morning Calm (Boston, 1886); The Soul of the Far East (1888); Noto: An Unexplored Corner of Japan (1891); The Eve of the French Revolution (1892); and Occult Japan, or the Way of the Gods (1895).
