In the 1911 Encyclopædia Britannica, Blue Nile might refer to:
- The Blue Nile river, the eastern headwaters of the Nile which flow from Lake Tsana in Ethiopia and meet the “White Nile” at Khartum
- The Blue Nile mudiria (province) of the Anglo-Egyptian Sudan
Note that the same river is also referred to as the “Abai” within articles related to Ethiopia (“Abyssinia”).
