I'm majorly self taught in programming and as a result have learnt it in patches mostly because I've adopted a practice of quickly skimming through documentation and tutorials to only learn bits I need to solve a problem at hand. It makes me fast but often messy followed up with lots of QA work afterwards :) Well, I'm trying to improve that now by picking up more on fundamentals and scaling from there.
