I run Bitcoin core on my windows 10 machine. And occasionally the damn thing shuts off all my applications and corrupts my Bitcoin Core blockchain download. Yes, I know, don't use windows. That's the obvious answer.
But what I've done so far is backup the entire .bitcoin folder of 200+gb in case of a crash where I can just copy it back to the original place if it does corrupt and just start downloading from there instead of starting from the beginning or does a very long rescan.
My question now is, what are the required files that I would need to backup occasionally to keep this backup up to date where I don't have to resync from the beginning? Is it just the blocks and chainstate folder only? What about all the other files in .bitcoin?
