How is the maximum of tick per seconds?

I just wonder what is the maximum of tick per second for cryptocurrency. On theory every second can have thousands of ticks, but in real word I think this is not real world.

Technically in Computer Science you can define your own clock. Usually you have 100000 or 1000000 ticks per Second. Thus Works well. The Clocks in computers are accurate enough. Many Computer-hardware-clocks and computer-cpus can have much more ticks. But what does this have to do with bitcoin? Ticks per second are not relevaant for cryptocurrencies
